O’Neill Insurance Agency Welcomes Peter Van Auker

Wadsworth, December 2, 2010: The O’Neill Group welcomes Peter Van Auker, a native of Fairlawn, Ohio and graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, to its Downtown Wadsworth office. Van Auker, who will serve as an intern with the independent insurance agency, is currently a senior majoring in Finance and Marketing at Ohio University. He is also a student of The Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre Program at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

The Schey Sales Centre was established by the Ohio University Board of Trustees in 1997 to develop and differentiate tomorrow’s sales stars by focusing on core sales competencies. The Centre provides innovative learning both inside and outside the classroom. Students who are accepted to the program may earn a sales certificate upon completion of required classroom work and a sales internship.

The O’Neill Group internship has been preapproved by the university to fulfill Peter’s internship obligations for this year. Along with gaining an understanding of the insurance industry and agency sales, Peter will also complete additional requirements of his certificate program including performing ongoing sales analysis, personal analysis, and academic components of sales training.

Candlelight Walk; Letters from Santa

Wadsworth, October 18, 2010: The O’Neill Group announces its participation in the annual Downtown Wadsworth Candlelight Walk. The FREE event takes place on the historic square in Wadsworth on Friday, November 19, 2010. Festivities begin at 6:00 in the evening.

Exterior Renovation Enhances Downtown Wadsworth

The corner of High Street and Broad is looking more like a younger version of itself these days. That’s thanks to the wonderful restoration of the stately brick building by its current owner, Mr. Patrick O’Neill of The O’Neill Group.

The downtown structure, built nearly one hundred years ago, has gone through several changes through the years which deviated from its intended architectural style.
Along with Whole Day Café, who also resides in the building, Mr. O’Neill has taken great care and consideration to preserve the structure’s original integrity and character. A new beautiful exterior restoration now tops off the historically accurate interior. The building recently received an exterior face lift which included new windows, window casings and moldings along with a fresh coat of paint. Most noticeably, local contractors removed tired awnings and installed new transom windows to replace the original ones that were covered over by former occupants.

The renovation is also a prime example of how locally owned businesses are a tremendous asset to the economy and to the community. By hiring local businesses to complete the construction and restoration of a piece of Wadsworth history, Mr. O’Neill has made another great investment in the community where he grew up and now operates his business. “I love Wadsworth, the people and the community. Jody began her career in 1983 as a Customer Service Representative.
